A puppet-forward visual theater work for audiences of all ages. Set in the Sagebrush Desert (the home of Bud -the Packrat), a cigar sparks a fire, as the animals in Bud’s valley flee for their lives. Bud’s “packrat” instinct, to hoard people-made objects, makes him an outcast and a scapegoat among the desert animals. They ban him, so Bud must set out alone, with the fire raging, to confront human made dangers and a few natural ones, until he finally finds his place in the world, and learns that the connectedness of all life rules the day.
